Many people have asked me over the years what attracted me to the photography profession.

 

Ever since I took a photo of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, I have been told that I have a “good eye.” 

​

I began my journey into the realm of photography many years ago with the idea that it was my duty to randomly capture everything around me.  As I gained expertise, I made the decision to become more intentional with my photography. 

 

Why? 

 

Both of my parents dealt with the ravages of dementia and I recognized how this illness robbed them of so many precious memories.  Realizing that one day too I may face this grim reality I use my camera as a tool to record the beauty around me which may one day serve as memory prompts for me of this wild ride called life.
